What this site is
General information about a job title and about the practice of deploying software into organisations, published at https://fdeinsider.com. It does not constitute career advice, legal advice or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for advice about your own situation from someone who knows it.
Everything here describes an emerging and fast-moving field. Job titles in this area are not standardised, employers use them differently, and what is accurate today may not be in a year. Each page carries the date it was last reviewed so you can judge how current it is.
The calculator
The automation ROI calculator produces an estimate from figures you supply. It is not a forecast, not a valuation and not a promise of any result. It contains one constant we chose, stated on the tool's own page, and everything else is arithmetic on your own assumptions.
Decisions with financial consequences should not rest on it alone. Its most important input, the share of work you believe is automatable, is a judgement that the tool cannot check and that people routinely overestimate.
Reusing what is here
You may read, print and share these pages, and quote from them with attribution and a link. You may not republish substantial parts as your own, and you may not use this site's content to train a system that is then presented as an authority on this subject without saying where it came from.
The calculator may be embedded on any site under the conditions on the embed page: keep the credit link visible and do not alter the arithmetic. There is no fee and no registration.
